Grape Expectations For Kids Annual Dinner 2026
A milestone 25th Anniversary is one to truly celebrate, especially when it means that since the creation of the Kids-TALK program in 2001 thousands upon thousands of children in Wayne County have been surrounded by the support they need to heal from their trauma. Our spectacular 25th Anniversary Kids-TALK Gala (formerly the Grape Expectations for Kids Dinner) at the crown jewel of Detroit—the newly and superbly restored Michigan Central–raises funds to help The Guidance Center protect children who have suffered abuse, neglect and trauma and work to expand this life-saving program in the City of Detroit and beyond.
For 25 years Kids-TALK has made a huge difference in the lives of children and families in Wayne County. Supporting and attending this spectacular Gala both helps thousands of children each year and invests in the future of our community!
The Guidance Center
Since 1958 The Guidance Center has been committed to its mission to: Nurture development. Foster resilience. Cultivate well-being.
Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center
The Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides children and their families impacted by abuse with everything they need to heal and move toward the bright futures they deserve.
Samaritan Center
Samaritan Center is a unique blend of organizations who have a history of serving the disadvantaged and are committed to the continuing redevelopment of Detroit’s east side.
Habitat for Humanity
Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has been more than just building houses—we’ve been building futures. Across the world, over 1 million families have found stability, safety, and a place to call their own through the support of Habitat for Humanity.
Here in Detroit, our story began in 1986. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside nearly 400 families, helping them move from uncertainty into the comfort of a home filled with hope, dignity, and new beginnings.
Childrens Miracle Network
For over 40 years, CMN has been a symbol of hope for every child in need of care. Wherever you see our balloon, you’ll find people and organizations joining forces to raise funds for their local children’s hospital.
Our Values
At Leader Dogs for the Blind, we believe everyone deserves independence and mobility. Thanks to generous donor support, all our programs for people who are blind or low vision are provided free of charge, including instruction, equipment, room and board, and travel to our campus. This removes financial barriers and ensures that life-changing services are accessible based on need, not ability to pay.
