Dean Clemons

Dean has been in the financial industry for two decades, and is a lead financial advisor here at Lincoln Financial Advisors. His specialties include working with small and mid-sized businesses to establish employer-sponsored retirement plans, and helping business owners plan for the succession of their business. He also works with individuals to create comprehensive financial plans that encompass all financial milestones in their lives—including a successful retirement.

Dean grew up on Lake Erie, working in his family’s motel and marina business as a child. This experience nurtured two passions in him: being on the water, and managing money. He continued to pursue those passions as he grew, becoming one of the youngest Charter Captains on Lake Erie when he was 18 years old. He attended Findlay College, where he obtained a BA, and continued to run his charter business while working towards his MBA in Finance from Bowling Green State University.

Dean obtained his MBA in 1993, and in 1999, sold his charter business and moved to Michigan to begin his career as a financial advisor. In 2000, he received his designation as a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS), as well as obtaining his FINRA Series 7, 65, and 63 securities registrations.

Dean resides in Marblehead, Ohio, with his wife Lyn. Together, they have two adult children, Collin and Lauren, and a shih tzu named—by pure coincidence—Lincoln. His hobbies include golfing, fishing, and competing in the javelin toss in masters’ track and field. He is also an active member of his community and participates in numerous Chamber of Commerce activities, as well as being a member of the Board of Directors for the Canton Michigan Rotary Club.

Dean is passionate about helping his clients meet their financial goals, particularly when it comes to creating a secure retirement plan for their future. Few things bring him more satisfaction than having a client successfully and comfortably retire, and thank him for the role his financial guidance played in making that a reality.
